The College of Human Science and Services is hosting a screening of the documentary Miss Representation by Jennifer Siebel Newsom. The film explores how the media’s misrepresentation of women has led to the underrepresentation of women in positions of power and influence. A panel discussion on this important aspect of diversity will follow the screening. Refreshments will be served. The event is open and free to students, faculty, and the public.

A well done movie about how females are portrayed in the media and the influence that these images have not only on our female children but our male children as well. We need to be very aware of this and vow to fight against this continuing overly sexual, power diminished, intellectually inferior, physical attributes images by using the power of the purse. These images are designed to sell products. Let's pledge to say~No More~ Great panel of women talking about their experiences and ways they handled the constant questions about their capabilities.
