The University’s Department of Public Safety/Office of Emergency Management has developed several tools for faculty, staff and students to help them to understand what role they may play in an active emergency. More than 600 community members have participated in protective actions training sessions.
This introductory course reviews the steps and terminology used by public safety officials during an emergency such as: Lock-Down, Shelter-in-Place, and Evacuation. By learning these definitions and the steps to take in advance of any emergency, you will be better prepared to respond in a crisis situation.
