Design and Tour of Roger Williams Park Botanical Center

Taber Caton, a principal with the Searle Design Group, will share their original Master Plan for the design of the Botanical Center grounds. The presentation will include before, during and after visuals related to the construction process, and will be followed by guided tours. Roger Williams Park Botanical Center is the largest public indoor display garden in New England located on a 15 acre site. Owned by the City of Providence, it has gained an identity and been transformed over the past 15 years by the implementation of a Master Plan. This project has become a Providence destination and exemplifies the connection of indoor and outdoor spaces. The use of diverse plant communities including native and adaptive plants speaks to the vision of creating a sustainable landscape. The project also demonstrates how ADA accessibility can be achieved in a public garden with a challenged terrain.

What a wonderful day. The staff at the Roger Williams Park Botanical Center have done such an excellent job transforming the grounds from desolate to a restored treasure. Congratulations to all.
