Apply to be a Resident Academic Mentor

The Resident Academic Mentor (RAM) is a part-time live-in position assigned to a Living and Learning Community (LLC) to guide and support first year students as they transition to college life. RAMs work collaboratively with Academic Partners (colleges, faculty, Deans) to provide resources, coordinate in-hall programming, and provide one-on-one academic support to students in their LLC.

The University of Rhode Island’s Department of Housing and Residential Life has anticipated RAM openings in the following Living and Learning Communities (LLCs):

  • Business
  • Chinese Flagship
  • Education
  • Engineering
  • Environmental & Life Sciences
  • Exploring/Undeclared (students of all majors are welcome to apply)
  • Fine Arts and Design (Art, Music, Theater and Landscape Architecture)
  • Gender Equity and Leadership in Sexuality (GELS)
  • Harrington School of Communication and Media
  • Health Sciences
  • Nursing
  • Pharmacy
